Harvest was born in October 2023 by the friendship and common musical interests between Omar (drums) and Fabio (Guitars), who finally managed to combine their passion for the Gothic/Doom Metal of the early 90s, of bands like My Dying Bride, Katatonia, Paradise Lost, Tiamat and transform it into new music. Subsequently Elisa on bass, a long-time friend of both, joins the band.
While the piecese were being composed and arranged, we felt the need to also include some keyboards inserts and a second guitar, and this is where Matteo comes in.
Finally, when all the songs were finished and ready, we asked ourselves what kind of vocals would be suitable for them, and after a long research, we find out Roberto, whose voice was suited to the mood of the songs and the album atmosphere. In Dicember of 2024, we published a Lyric Video of the first track of the album, called Born Alone, on our band’s Youtube page.
Then, after the album was finished and published on our Bandcamp page, Roberto left the band for personal and extra-musical reasons, as he also had a solo project that took up a lot of his time, and therefore the choice of the new vocalist fell almost immediately on Emanuele, Omar’s long-time friend, as well as his current singer on Orki band.
Now the band is in its stable lineup and ready to face the challenges that the music business requires.
OWLS OVER OAKS
Emerging from the depths of Italy’s extreme underground, Owls Over Oaks
deliver a formidable blend of extreme drone doom that pushes the boundaries
of darkness and despair. Formed in 2022 by Valerio “Leynir” Possetto, ex-bassist
of Enisum, the project took its final, definitive shape in 2024 with the addition of
two highly respected figures from the Italian extreme scene, Elisa “Aeretica”
Iacopini, ex-vocalist of Amethista, and Roberto “Bob Rip” Ripollino, drummer
also active with Nihili Locus and Nerocapra.
Leynir is the sole composer and lyricist, crafting a sound that is at once crushing
and hypnotic. Their debut album, O.O.O., the first installment of a planned
trilogy, was recorded entirely in analog. It stands out for its use of dual bass
lines, both performed by Leynir, with zero guitars, a radical approach that
intensifies the album’s monolithic weight. Comprising three tracks spanning 40
minutes, O.O.O. is conceived as a single apocalyptic litany, a relentless descent
into pain, perdition and blindness, all enveloped in a pitch-black, Mad Max
inspired soundscape.
Owls Over Oaks create a totalizing sonic experience where every note drips with
darkness and every silence resonates with impending catastrophe.
